What do you need to know before entering the Lakeland 100 or Lakeland 50?
1. To enter the 100 you must be an experienced ultra distance mountain / trail runner
2. To enter the 50 you must be an experience long distance mountain / trail runner / walker
3. You must be an experienced navigator and have experience of night navigation skills
4. From previous results we do not believe that it is possible to 'walk' the 100 without being timed out early into the event and we have strict cut off times in place. If you are outside these cut offs you will not be allowed to continue.
5. It is feasible to walk the whole of the 50 mile event within the time limit if you travel at a steady pace continuously
6. The weather can change rapidly which requires both experience and the correct footwear / clothing
7. Please do not enter either event unless you agree to take full responsibility for your own health, fitness and wellbeing whilst out on the course.

Why do the entries get more expensive as the event gets closer?
In simple terms we need people to enter this event as early as possible. We need to arrange car parking, marshals, food, t-shirts, medals, maps and numerous other things, all of which cannot be ordered until we know numbers and have the finances to do so. In the first year of the event the majority of entries entered in the final month by which time it was too late to change the race organisation and resources, entering early helps us to plan ahead and plan better!
